One of such talented superstars that have emerged from a reality show in Nigeria is Laycon. Laycon was one of the 21 people who were opportune to participate in the Big Brother Naija Tv show(Lockdown Edition). At the end of the show which lasted for about 70 days, Laycon emerged as the winner and went home with gifts worth 85million naira. Background and Education

Rapper, Singer and Songwriter, Laycon was born Olamilekan Moshood Agbeleshe on November 8, 1993. He is a second class upper graduate of the prestigious University of Lagos(UNILAG) where he studied Philosophy. At the end of his BA program, he emerged as the Best graduating student in his department(2016). Laycon grew up in the city of Lagos though he is a native of Bajuwen His emergence as the winner of big brother last year also earned him recognition in his home state, Ogun state where he was also appointed as the youth Ambassador by the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun who also gifted him with a house and cash gifts. Laycon’s fans are often referred to as ‘Icons”.

Also, On the 3rd of January 2021, a chieftaincy title was conferred on Laycon from the Onipokia of Ipokia, Ogun State, Yisa Adesola Olaniyan as the Akeweje of Ipokia Kingdom, Ogun State at the 2021 Opo Day celebration.

While in the house, Laycon carved a niche for himself which made Nigerians and lovers of the BBN show vote massively for him while he was in the house. Laycon is the first housemate of the season to be verified on Instagram. Also, he became the first housemate in the show’s history to reach 1 million followers while he was still in the house. In the final week of the show, he was nominated as the “head of the house“.

Laycon started writing songs and rapping at a tender age. The rapper was among the ten artists that performed at the 2014 Coke Studio University of Lagos event. Also, Laycon was among the top ten finalists of the 2017 MTV Base LSB challenge.

In 2019, Laycon signed into the Fierce Nation record label, the same year, he released a single titled “fierce” which he featured Chinko Ekun and Reminisce. The song “fierce” made it to MTV BASE Top ten charts for six months.

Laycon has two EP’s to his name. Young, Black, and Gifted which he released in 2016, and Who is Laycon released in 2019.

He also has several singles to his name. Some of them are Fierce, Senseless, Hip-hop, Fallforme, Wagwan. Laycon has also worked with several artists in the music industry, some of them are Chinko Ekun, Dj Neptune, Reminisce, and many others.
